Our values define us.
Legal Executive Leadership is honored to build upon the strong foundation of Susan’s service to legal public interest, pro bono, and diversity initiatives. Each of these amazing organizations receives support (financial and / or in-kind) by LEL, because our profession is only as strong as its commitment to shared, core values.
OnRamp Fellowship
Caren Ulrich Stacey’s amazing project to advance opportunities for experienced women re-entering the profession.
Pro Bono Institute and Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO) project
Susan founded this partnership project while at ACC and still supports its work, having helped to create a program that encourages and supports corporate law departments that wish to develop robust and highly impactful pro bono projects for their staff and to the benefit of their community.
Street Law / The Corporate Legal Diversity Pipeline Program
Susan founded this partnership program while at ACC, connecting corporate legal departments with Street Law high school classes and teachers in diverse communities, with the goal of engaging with students of color who may be more likely to consider a career in law or law-related professions as a result of the corporate lawyers’ mentorship and outreach. Susan still serves on Street Law’s board.
Equal Justice Works
EJW mobilizes the next generation of lawyers committed to public service and equal justice. Susan’s role as a board member allowed her to focus her energies on EJW’s fellowship programs, which provide vital services and access to justice for underserved constituencies. When we support EJW, we empower the organization to train and pay their fellows a living wage for two years as they pioneer their local and specialized pro bono projects, during which time, they work make their projects self-sustaining going forward. Susan served on EJW’s Board.
